Carmarthen Film Club presents: Riptide

In 2019, Welsh surfer Mark ‘Jock’ Jones was diagnosed with Myeloma—a rare form of blood cancer. Forced into isolation, away from his surfing obsession and his family, Jock began a virtual paddle around his home country of Wales, in order to raise money to tackle his disease. As Jock documented his progress online, his journey sent ripples of hope into a community suffering with their own issues and resulted in a wave of compassion that he rode towards remission and rediscovery.

The screening will begin with an introduction by the films two co-directors, Lewis Carter and Kristian Kane. After the screening, there will be a short break, followed by a Q&A session with the co-directors and the star of the film, Mark ‘Jock’ Jones.
